Arsenal is reevaluating its timeline for signing a new striker and is now closely considering Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic as a viable option for January.
Sources familiar with Arsenal’s strategy have informed CaughtOffside that the club originally planned to wait until next summer to pursue a center-forward, focusing on Benjamin Šeško.
However, Vlahovic’s contract situation at Juventus has prompted Arsenal to explore a potential move this winter, especially since the Serbian international has not progressed on a new deal with the Serie A side.
CaughtOffside reports that Juventus is also looking at Šeško as a potential replacement for Vlahovic, which could create a chain reaction beneficial to Arsenal. If Juventus wants to avoid losing Vlahovic for a low fee, they may be inclined to let the 24-year-old leave this winter.
Arsenal seems prepared to accelerate their search for a striker, which could be advantageous for all parties involved. This move would allow Arsenal to strengthen their squad immediately, while a transfer fee of around €60 million could help Juventus in pursuing Šeško in the summer.
Although Vlahovic may not be the top choice for all Arsenal fans, he has shown significant quality during his time in Italy and would likely be an improvement over the struggling Gabriel Jesus.
